Art & Environment

THE MINISTRY PROVIDES APPROPRIATE DECORATION FOR THE CHURCH,  in keeping with the liturgical seasons. It seeks active parishioners who have an artistic sense, creativity, interest and willingness to help as needed.  There are usually 2-4 parishioners on a regular basis, augmented by others for the major feast of Christmas, Easter.   The time commitment is seasonal.

The church should be decorated appropriate to the mysteries of salvation celebrated through the unfolding of the liturgical year.  There is great value in decorating the Church, particularly for Sundays and other Feasts, but decorations should be carefully considered so that it complements the liturgy, not distract from it.

At St. Anthony Parish, we strive to make each liturgy a rich and fulfilling experience.  Our goal is to create a setting conducive to a meaningful worship.   This ministry oversees all aspects of environment, including altar linens, vessels, candles, etc.   It is important that the place where the people gather for worship is kept clean and tidy.

This work is done behind the scenes.  Help is always needed.  For further information, contact the Rectory at 925-625-2048.
